Seasons Poll

I have a confession to make. In the midst of constant complaints about the non-stop snow, I am secretly loving it. I say secretly because I'm afraid that if towards the end of the season I begin to look forward to green grass, someone may not let me forget my secret love of the white stuff. I even read in the news today about "Tips on how beat the depression" brought on by this kind of "foul" weather.

Colorado is known for huge changes in weather at a moment's notice. I love variety, which is one of the reasons I fell in love here. (Did I mention one day 2 weeks ago, the temperature hit 64 degrees and I hand washed my car? Two days later the high was 6 degrees.) This has been a very unusual winter. The grass was still green in December when the first blizzard hit and I now have no idea what it looks like now. It's been buried beneath deep snow for over a month. Snow usually melts within a day or two at most. But it is beautiful, which is why Winter is my second favorite month of all.

So, all of this got me to thinking about seasons. What is your favorite season of the year? I'd love to hear from everyone about which is the best to worst season. (I missed "delurking week" so I'd love for lurkers to jump in and add their answers too. You are welcome to post annonymously.) Oh, and please include the month you were born. I'm wondering if some of us look forward to a season because of the anticipation of celebrating one's birth.

Here are my answers:

1. Summer-I love the hot, lazy days of summer.
2. Winter-I love layering clothes and the beauty of winter snow.
3. Spring-Because just about the time I'm getting tired of being cold, springs breaks out. (My birthday is in March 13, technically winter, but close to spring
4. Fall-I think I've always disliked fall. For the past 20 years or so, it means my kids would go off to school, spending more of their day with a teacher instead of me. I never liked the beginning of a school year. I miss my kids when they are gone!

So what about you?

1. Fall - The looks, the smells... The wind!

2. Winter - I like to be all suggly inside, and it is so crisp on the outside. Snow is the cleanest thing I have ever seen or smelled. I wish we had some! *LOL*

3. Spring - I love watching the birds, and the weather is warm enough to enjoy being outside.

4. Summer - My least favorite. Emily and I stay inside a lot because neither of us handle heat well.

Thanks for bringing it up! :o)

Summer is the best. Bring on the sun baby!

Winter is fun....without wet mittens and hats and boots and a 2ft. by 2ft. "mudroom".

Spring and fall tie for third because I'm too lazy to think of a reason.

Hi! I've been reading your blog for almost a month and am really enjoying it. We live in Southern FLorida, so we're not too keen on summer and are enjoying seeing photos of the beautiful snow in your area! Keep 'em coming!
Favorite Season:
1-Fall- We homeschool, so look forward to getting back together with friends after the separation time in summer. I also love getting into the fall colors and upcoming holidays. My mom mails the kids a box of genuine fall leaves from NC every fall. They just love to throw them up in the air and being the only ones in the neighborhood who has to rake leaves!
2-Spring- The weather is just beautiful this time of year! Sunny, windy, and cool. I also love Easter and getting ready for it.
3-Winter- Usually so much cooler than summer, though not this year. Unusual winter here, too. In the lower to mid 80's. It's usually in the 70's.
4 and last...just too darn hot, even with A/C!!
My birthday is in March, too.

I also love snow. I have to say though that I am tired of being cold. I also live in Colorado.

1. Summer - shorts, no school (not that I'm in school anymore, but the kids are, and DH is a teacher), sunny days, thunderstorms, fun outside ... I was born in July, BTW.

2. Spring - tulips, things springing to life again, weather warming up (I think spring and summer are actually tied for first place for me.)

3. Winter - I like snow, but I like the cold weather less and less as I get older. Christmas!

4. Fall - The colors are beautiful, but I hate Halloween.
