(These photos were from 18 months ago, & I believe I posted them before. But I thought they were appropriate to post again. ) It is never too early to teach children about the history of our nation and what our flag represents. We live in "the land of the free and the home of the brave," thanks to the generosity of our Veterans.
And Happy 58th Anniversary to my inlaws, Edwin & Elizabeth!!! (Who, because of his military duties, chose to be married on Veteran's Day.)

We have only lived in this town for 11 months, but we met a family who has become very dear friends of ours. He is heading over there on December 29. It's heartbreaking. I am so thankful, too, but it doesn't seem fair, because he is making such a huge sacrifice, letting go of his family for a long time so that all of us can live in peace and enjoy the freedom we have. And the help (and hope!) that he and the other troops are giving families over there, I'm thankful.
