Three

Once upon a time, there was a Gramma and Grandpa who only had a grandson.  The grandparents waited and waited a long time to have a granddaughter. One day, in the magical city of New Orleans, their waiting ended. A beautiful baby girl was born. Her parents named her Ivydee Harper.

Ivydee was a sweet baby, with soft hair and beautiful brown eyes. Everyone loved her so very much.

When she was 9 months old, her mama took a trip, and her gramma came to visit. Ivydee was curious. She enjoyed pulling books from the bookshelf. She crawled around the room, even climbing over her big dog Daphne. She was happy until it was night time. Then she wanted her mama.

Ivydee cried and cried. She loved her daddy and gramma, but wanted her mama. Daddy walked her back and forth, back and forth while playing a small and simple song for her. She fell asleep in his arms and would only sleep if laying on his chest. Ivydee was very happy when mama came home.

Ivydee grew and grew.

She became a big sister to Jolie.

Ivydee loves to read books and hear stories. Often, she goes to the library and listens to more stories with her friends.  Ivydee likes to hear stories about herself from mama or daddy. Then she retells their stories over and over.

Ivydee has a great imagination.

One minute she is a bride, getting married to her daddy. The next minute, she is a princess in a faraway land.  Sometimes she pretends to be Cinderella with her fairy godmother.

Sometimes she is just Ivydee, somersaulting in the grass, playing with her cousins.

Today, Ivydee is three. She has grown into a lovely, talkative, funny, imaginative, adventurous three year old princess. She gets cuter and cuter every day.
I love you Ivydee, Happy Birthday sweet girl.

Truthfully,
Gramma

Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” Luke 18:16-17
