Senior Ditch Day

I phoned the attendance office at the high school and left the following message:

Hi, this is Joanne.

Please excuse my daughter from school today. She wasn't feeling well, so went to Ihop for breakfast. She was in need of outdoor therapy so spent the rest of the day at the park.

If you have questions, please call.

Scandalous!

Just kidding.

I am in full support of outdoor therapy. Good for you!

Too funny! :-) Way to go, Mom!! lol I remember my senior skip day. They announced that NO ONE would be excused unless they had a doctor's note. I couldn't figure out how to get a dr. note, so my mom suggested I call my pediatrician and ask. He had been a family dr. for many, many years, so knew me well. I called and told him what was up and asked him if he would write me a note. He agreed, but only under the condition that I, personally, showed up to get it. He would not give it to my mom. I thought that was weird, but said ok. On the appointed day, I went to the office to get my note. Upon reading the note, I understood why I had to be there. The note said this: "Mylinda was in my office today, Jan. (whatever). Please excuse her from class today." He he! It didn't say I was sick or anything except that I was in his office! Way to go, Doc!! lol We had a great laugh about that one!
Hope she enjoyed the day off today! :-)

Mylinda, love that story! The kids had a lot of fun. I doubt the absence was actually excused, but they knew that I knew she was absent.
