Valentine's Day
Happy Valentine's Day! Many of you know, Michael is not the most romantic person in the world. I've mentioned it here, more than once before. He is just not hard-wired that way. (Will say more on this in a later post.)
Last week, he sent me a message. It said he had a surprise for me. (Is it still a surprise if you tell someone you're surprising them?) I believe I responded, "I don't believe you could ever really surprise me." Looking back over previous posts, I realize he did surprise me once.
Michael disclosed that the surprise involved an overnight in the mountains and dinner at a nice restaurant. Did he just divulge his secret? He assured me, there was more and that we absolutely had to arrive at our destination for a 2 o'clock appointment.
I actually did a google search for romantic mountain destinations in Colorado to appease my curiosity. I knew he hadn't scheduled us for spa treatments, a massage, or a pedicure. Eventually I gave up my search, opting instead to enjoy the element of surprise. And surprise me he did.
Our two o'clock appointment was a wedding ceremony where we, along with about 10 other couples, renewed our wedding vows.
I don't recall crying when we got married, but I couldn't hold back the tears this time. I could hardly choke out the words.
We exchanged stones, symbolic of wedding rings,
And a few kisses.
Following the ceremony we shared these beautiful cupcakes,
And champagne.
Not only was I surprised, but this by far was my best Valentine's Day ever! And there was more...

WAY TO GO Michael!
I am glad you had such a grgeat weekend together!
Aw, this is so lovely!! Congratulations!! What a wonderful Valentine's Day celebration! XO
JoAnne, I was just reading the older surprise post... did you ever find the earrings?
I ask, because some vacuum cleaners have little compartments in them that retain "heavier" items.
I found this out after vacuuming up a diamond necklace one of the twins had taken out and broken. I went through the vacuum bag THREE times with a sifter.
Months later, when my Mom came to visit, she showed me this little compartment on a vaccum (This was a kirby) and there lay the missing diamond!
Also, in the reminding of God is mindful... My MIL had lost ONE of a special pair of earrings her DH had given her. He passed on. She had looked for the earring for two years, yet never tossed the one she still had. One day, after seeing the missing earring on her dresser, she told her departed DH "Jack why don't you find that earring!".
The next day, she was sweeping, and her broom got caught on a corner of the stove. She bent down to pull loose the straws that had stuck on the stove foot. They were not coming loose. She wriggled the stove just a bit, and when she pulled the now loosened straws out, her earring was right there on the floor by the stove foot!
(She knows it was God and not the ghost of her DH!)
I love love love this :)
Tammy, that is an awesome story! I didn't know that about vacuums. I don't have that one anymore. I got a new vacuum this year and traded the old one in. But YES, I did find the earring.
WOOHOO! :o)
